Open Auditions for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat production. Auditions to be held at the State Theater on Michigan Avenue in the city of Wayne.
Monday & Tuesday Auditions: September 22 & 23, 2008 at 7:00pm. Registration starts at 6:30pm.

Bring 16 bars of a musical theater song with sheet music or a background track on a CD.

For the Dance Audition please wear comfortable clothing and shoes that you can move in.
All auditioners will learn a dance number that night.

Performance Dates:
Dec: 5, 6, 12 & 13, 2008 @ 8:00pm &
Dec: 6, 7, 13 & 14, 2008 @ 2:00pm

Tickets are:
$15 for Adults
$13 for Students and Seniors
$10 for kids 12 years old and under.

Character Descriptions

Narrator

2-3 women (age range open) Narrators of Joseph's life. Vocal numbers will be split among the women and at times they will harmonize together.

Joseph

(age range 20's) Favorite son of Jacob; young, handsome and honest. He has been blessed with the ability to interpret dreams and to tell the future.

Jacob

(age range 50's-60's) Joseph's father

The Pharaoh

(age range 30's-40's) Elvis impersonator or as close to Elvis-like as possible. Ruler of Egypt. Auditioners will be asked to do their best Elvis impersonation.

Potiphar's Wife

(age range 30's) Sexy, evil, beautiful. Knows what she wants, Joseph, and will stop at nothing to get him. Women interested in auditioning for Mrs. Potiphar should be prepared to pantomime a seduction scene.

Potiphar

(can double as a brother) rich, evil Egyptian captain

Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Napthali, Issachar, Asher, Dan, Zebulun, Gad, Benjamin, Judah

(all ages) Joseph's eleven jealous brothers; conniving and selfish

The Baker and Butler

These will be cast from the brothers. If you are interested in auditioning for the soloist of One More Angel in Heaven, Those Canaan Days or Benjamin Calypso, please be prepared to sing that song at a callback audition.

Wives chorus

(all ages) Wives of Jacob, Egyptian chorus, featured dancers and singers

Children chorus

(age10 and up) Please be prepared to sing a song of your choice, acapella, and tell a story or joke.
